The traditional hotel Devín welcomes its guests in the heart of the historical center of Bratislava for more than 60 years.
The historical hotel Devín is a special meeting place since its opening ceremony in 1954. In the past many famous people had honored this hotel with a visit, as for example the Supreme secular and spiritual ruler of Tibet, the Dalai Lama, the French film and theatre actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, an American magician and illusionist David Copperfield and others famous politicians and constitutional agents. As the students of second year of the Regional Tourism Department, FSŠ UKF in Nitra we had an opportunity to visit the elegant hotel rooms with atmosphere of old times on April 27th 2018. After the hearty welcome, Mrs. Júlia Grajciarová, Devín’s business manager was awaiting us at the hotel reception. She familiarized us with a long history and unique architecture of the hotel, which is the work of a renowned architect Emil Belluš. The majestic building, where the hotel has been operating for more than 60 years, is also a protected cultural monument Despite the high occupancy of the hotel guests we continued a tour of hotel rooms. We were enchanted by traditional elegance in combination of modern facilities. After visiting the exclusive rooms and suites with views of the river Danube or Bratislava castle, we had the opportunity to become familiar with internal issues of organisational reviews of the hotel. After answering students’ questions about hotel management and service issues, we were able to look into the intimate Spa Center, which included a smaller fitness center with a wide range of additional services. Our next stop was a visit of the charming spaces corporate, congress and private events, where we were informed about the capacity and availability of the different areas and about possibilities of interconnection of individual hotel premises in order to satisfy even the most demanding needs and wishes of the guest. In the end, we moved to the noble French restaurant, where we were acquainted with a wide range of food and beverages.
