Event with the name „The World of Tastes and Smells of Nitra Region“ was realized on 7´th of November. Organizers of this event were students of Regional Tourism of 3´rd grade under the leadership of Ing. Ľudmila Mazúchová, PhD.
Event began with the words of the head of the Department of Tourism, PhDr. Zuzana Palenčíková, PhD. Invitation was accepted by the Decan, dr. habil. PaedDr. Žofia Bárcziová, PhD. Another important guests were Ing. Terézia Repáňová, PhD a Mgr. Zuzana Sándorová, PhD.
After opening the event had professional lecture sommelier Tomáš Šajgal from the restaurat FOUZOO. He was talking about the right way of tasting the wine. He presented four kinds of wine: white, rose, red and at last alcohol-free cider from Austria. We could taste all kinds of wine and listen talk about all of them. Mr. Šajgal also presented some wine without etiquette and he had really good reason for it: „ Important part of wine is color, smell and taste. I offer some wine without ettiquette to my guests and at last I ask them if they like it or not. For me is the most important, when my clients trust me and they like wine, which they don´t know.“ Lecture of Mr. Šajgal was really interesting. We had opportunity to hear some of his stories and experiences from the practice life. It was very motivating and valuable for us.
After professional lecture had students of 3´rd grade opportunity to present their homemade food, which is typical for particular region of Slovakia. It was mostly food from the Nitra region. We could taste for example homemade pancakes from potatoes, salted cakes with cabbage, pies with sheep cheese, plum balls, Yugoslavian cakes, strudels, etc. The bonus was beautiful white cake with the UKF logo baked by student Dominika Demovičová.
Atmosphere of event was really nice, accompanied by friendly conversations between educators and students also.
