It was a great experience attending a mystery shopping last week, on 20th March with our classmates in Nitra. We met at 6 pm in front of the building of Nitra Tourist Information Office, where our tour guide, Chris Chilová was waiting for us. She was very polite and professional, she knew everything about the historical buildings she showed us. At first she talked about the history of Nitra then we moved to our first stop which was the Post Office. It was an old grey building in the shape of a cube. It was one of the first important buildings in Nitra. Then we moved to the Evangelical church, but unfortunately we didn’t had the chance to see it from inside because it is open only in Sundays. It was a modern building with a high tower and had a huge cross on the top of it. Then we moved to the Calvinist church. This temple looked very simple, there was no decoration on the windows and it had a small cathedral. Then we moved on to our final destination which was the Synagogue. It was built in 1910-1911 by an architect called Leopold Bauhorn. We went inside and sat down on the wooden chairs. It looked really nice from the inside. It is not just a “simple” synagogue, since some cultural events are also organised there. We have to say that from all of the buildings our tour guide showed us that day that was the most interesting for all of us.
We really enjoyed this guided tour as it gave us some experience how to behave professionally as a tour guide, speak in crowd and handle stressful situations or answer the questions raised by tourists.
