On November 29, 2019, we took part in a professional excursion at the Mercure Hotel Bratislava Centrum **** in Bratislava as a part of the subject of Hotel Management. The great advantage of the hotel is its location, because it is located near the main railway station. The hotel was accompanied by Mrs. Barbora Krajčová.
Through this excursion we could see how the “backstage” of a luxury hotel works. Our excursion began at the hotel reception where we could see the receptionist working in an international hotel. Subsequently, we moved to the conference room, where we were told about main information of the Mercure Bratislava Centrum ****. There are meetings and various conferences in this room. After a professional interpretation, our steps led to various hotel rooms. We could see that the hotel has three types of rooms. The basic room in the hotel is standard (comfort). The second option of accommodation in the hotel is a room “twin”. The third, the most expensive room in the hotel, is called privilege. The rooms were very tastefully and efficiently furnished in pop art style. It is interesting that the dominant of the hotel rooms are paintings by the famous artist Andy Warhol.
The excursion was very instructive and interesting, and we learned about the functioning of the hotel, which relates to tourism also from a practical point of view. We would like to thank the hotel management and all the employees who took care of us during the excursion. We would also like to thank Ing. Ľudmila Mazúchová, PhD. for the possibility of visiting the hotel and getting to know the hotel business in practice.
