On 22nd January 2020, we have attended a special lecture about chocolate, especially about LYRA CHOCOLATE, given by one of the four Fino de Aroma Master Chef Chocolatier, Mr. Karol Stýblo. He is also the owner of LYRA CHOCOLATE, which has stores in more than 10 countries worldwide.
On the lecture we were informed about why and how he started a chocolate business. Mr. Stýblo talked about the early beginnings of the company, interesting facts about the chocolate production, then presented the company´s future plans to us. Throughout the presentation we heard about the right way of cleaving trees, his visit of the cocoa plantation and collecting cocoa beans in Columbia.
In the company they organize events, where customers have acces to get in touch with the chocolate production and also taste different types of chocolate. Also we were informed, that they make various of projects, for example organizing competition „Junior chocolatier“ where they also teach young people how to make and handle chocolate. LYRA CHOCOLATE earned Great Taste Awards with what they earned a place in the best chocolate in the world. The main partner of the company is a Columbian company, Casa Luka, because Columbia is one of the main distributors of cocoa beans from which they produced chocolate. The company tries to be ecologic and tries to replace plastic wrapping for paper one. In the last year they succeeded to reduce the sugar in chocolate which means that their chocolate shouldn´t containt more than 30 per cent of sugar and they don´t contain soy so people with intolerance on soy can eat chocolate. Now they produce also filled chocolate and creams. They always try to modernize their workspace and technology a good example of modernizing are the QR codes on the packages of the chocolate which can be scanned with mobile phones and you get their webpage where you can read everything about the chocolate: whene it was made, what it contains and so on. We liked this idea so much, because it is a very innovative way to inform the customers. Mr. Stýblo gave us a sample of LYRA CHOCOLATE which was very tasty.
Through this way we want to thank again Mr. Stýblo for the interesting lecture. We learned the processes of chocolate until it gets to the customers, what it contains, what is the chocolate mass and various interesting facts. We are glad that in Slovakia exists this type of company which always goes forward. We wish you success to the future and a lot of „lyraholics“.
