On the 29th of February, as part of the sommelier course, we had the opportunity to meet at a lecture by a well-known barista – Mr. Lubomír Rácz and to hear about his interesting experiences.
He studied at the Hotel High School in Piešťany, after he finished he went to Germany, where he practiced and gained new experience, which moved him to where he is now. Since 2001 he founded the first concept in the area of cocktails in Nitra called Barkultur and he told us about his expreience with it.
He is an owner of American bar in Nitra Záhir. During the day there is a café, an evening bar which is very well known not only in Nitra but also in the surroundings and abroad. When Mr. Rácz created the concept of Zahira, he was inspired by Harry Johnson, a prominent bartender who owned and operated salons in the US in the 19th century.
Záhir makes sure that the guest is satisfied so that he/she feels comfortable at the entrance.
Of course, top bartenders also pay attention to quality.
We would like to thank Mr.Rácz for taking the time to come and visit us and share his experiences so far.
