The main objectives of the department are to give students the basic knowledge for performing various activities within theoretical preparation:
An integral part of the professional training of future experts in tourism is foreign language study mainly English, German as well as one of Central European languages such as Hungarian, Polish, or Czech.
The students will have the opportunity to adopt practical abilities and skills firstly in enterprises and institutions of tourism during a four-month continual professional practical training during the 7th semester of their studies, secondly by active participation in the university projects in the process of education of special subjects. They acquire practical knowledge within the schedule of professional field trips, conferences on tourism and by planning cross border products of tourism.

The graduate will be able to create products and programs in the field of tourism, to organize and lead a team, to manage commercial and operational processes in companies offering services of the tourism industry. He/she will acquire adequate technical skills and knowledge concerning the principles of sustainable tourism. He/she will be capable to guide clients, qualified for tour guiding, work with clients and business partners. He/she will have the possibility to run his/her business in this field.
